YD International President’s Europe Tour Inspires Vision for Revival

August 2024 – The YD International President recently concluded a mission tour across several major European cities, where he met with fellowship chapters and Bible-study groups. Throughout his travels, which took him through Paris, Berlin, London, and Cambridge, he shared a message of hope, healing, and revival for a region that has seen a significant decline in Christian faith in recent years.

During the tour, he was deeply moved by the iconic song “One” by U2, which became a constant companion on his journey. While traveling by train from Berlin to London, the song took on a new meaning for him. He discovered that “One” had been written in Berlin in 1992—a city with a deep division history, symbolized by the Berlin Wall. The song, which reflects a personal rift among Bono and his bandmates, resonated deeply with the President’s reflections on Europe’s spiritual and ideological divides.

The YD President emphasized the pressing need for European revival in his message. Though Europe may appear postmodern and experiencing a rapid decline in Christianity, if the gospel is preached boldly, healing, reconciliation, and renewal can emerge in even the most unexpected places.

This call for revival comes as Christianity in Europe faces significant challenges. Recent studies show that church attendance in many European countries has declined by over 50% in the past decade, making the message of revival and reconciliation even more critical. The YD President reflected on these spiritual divides, noting Europe’s fractured histories and the deep ideological, cultural, and national tensions that have shaped the continent.

“God revealed to me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can truly heal the brokenness of people and nations,” he shared. “When people, regardless of their backgrounds, encounter Christ and allow His message to transform their lives, there is real hope for reconciliation.”

While visiting Bible-study students and YD fellowship chapters, the President urged young adults to be bold in their faith and carry the Gospel’s message throughout their regions. His prayer for the trip was that the young generation in Europe would be awakened to the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, sparking a movement of revival that could spread across the continent.

Reflecting on his experiences, the YD President called for continued prayer for Europe. “There is great potential for revival here, and it can begin with the children of God,” he said. “We must continue to pray for God to soften hearts and open doors for the Gospel.”

As the YD International President returns from this pivotal tour, he hopes the seeds planted during his visits will grow into a spiritual awakening that brings hope and transformation across Europe.

Join us in prayer for the future of Europe and for the young adults who will rise to proclaim the Gospel boldly in this generation.
