Young Disciples and Harvest University are lending space to a local charity Golden Stars for its annual Christmas giving drive for the children of lower income families throughout Morgan County.

The campaign is a partnership program with the local police department, which helps gather donations of toys, clothing, and cash and identify those who might be in need.

Beginning October until the gift drive, the charity will occupy the modular building, where their staff will collect and wrap the gift, and this is the second year that Golden Stars is borrowing space from YD. Last year, the charity handed out backpacks, shoes, clothes, and jackets to over 650 children. Over 5,500 gifts were bought.

For families and children to participate, they need to be referred by schools, agencies or other organizations.

For each child that participates, they receive a ‘Christmas Box.’

YD staff hopes that by lending the space that the children and families in this community will be blessed.
