YD Korea Launches Campus Ministry Center at Chonnam National University in Gwangju

On April 11, YD Korea established the YD Chonnam National University Center just a five-minute walk from the university’s north gate in Gwangju, and held a dedication service. The establishment of the chapter marks the creation of a new hub for campus ministry in Gwangju, the heart of the Honam region, South-East of Korea and is expected to be an important first step in evangelizing university campuses across Honam.

During the dedication service, Pastor Benjamin Kim, the representative of YD Korea, preached a message titled “Comfort, Comfort My People,” based on Isaiah 40:1–11. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to establish a chapter in Gwangju, saying, “Though it may be small and lacking, I hope this center becomes a place of comfort to God. I pray that through this place, many will hear the gospel and be raised as disciples of Jesus.”

Going forward, the YD Chonnam National University Center plans to carry out various youth ministries focused on the university and surrounding campuses in Gwangju, including evangelism, discipleship training, and prayer gatherings. Starting with this new launch, YD Gwangju aims to actively expand its mission network to promote campus evangelization and spiritual renewal throughout universities in the Honam region.
