The Power of Pentecost – Abundance of the Spirit

On the day of Pentecost this year all YD members were encouraged to attend retreats and prayer meetings to receive power and strength from the Holy Spirit. 

The era of the Holy Spirit came following the sacrifice, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.  Some people say Pentecost is like summer’s version of Christmas.  It’s like the Christmas of the Spirit.  Just as Christmas is the Advent of Jesus Christ, Pentecost is the Advent of the Holy Spirit. Just as Christmas ushers in the new era of the Son, Pentecost ushers in the new era of the Holy Spirit. Christmas is the birthday of Jesus, and Pentecost is the birthday of the Church.  In other words, Pentecost is another Kairos.  The believers receive the Holy Spirit as an amazing gift – the Comforter who helps, advocates for, heals and protects us. Christians need to know what an amazing gift that the Holy Spirit is, and should ask the Father to give the Holy Spirit.

Jesus came and brought salvation through His blood so that we can enter heaven. And the Holy Spirit helps us to be perfected in our salvation, so that we can have a proud salvation when we go to heaven. May we seek the Holy Spirit more, and be filled with abundant power following Pentecost.
