During the service, YD Japan minister Joanna shared from Genesis 28:10–22, focusing on Jacob’s encounter with God during his journey and his declaration, “This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven” (Genesis 28:17). The message emphasized that the house of God is not established by external conditions or human preparation, but by God’s sovereign presence, which is recognized and responded to with reverence. Just as Jacob encountered God in the wilderness on an unprepared and ordinary night, God often reveals Himself to people in the midst of their life’s “journeys,” transforming seemingly ordinary places into spaces of divine encounter. The message also reflected
on the process of searching for and confirming the relocated Center, which involved moments of uncertainty, hesitation, and struggle. Yet it was precisely in these moments of weakness that God revealed His faithfulness and mercy, ultimately providing this space.

At the conclusion of the service, all those present joined together in prayer and blessing
for the Center, asking God to use it as a place where people may find rest, guidance, and
come to know Him. Prayers were also offered that God’s blessing would flow from this
Center to the surrounding universities and language schools, reaching many young
lives.

It is our hope that this Center will not be remembered for the building itself, but that
through encounters with God and lives being renewed here, it will truly become the
house of God and the gate of heaven.
