Have Fun Together!

We enjoy spending time together, taking a break from schoolwork, and building relationships in a community filled with God’s love.

Our Programs

On top of our weekly activities, we have special programs where you can grow even more in Christ.

Retreat

Young Disciples organizes multiple retreats throughout the year, including events like the Christmas, Spring, Easter, and Summer retreats. These gatherings are significant moments where we join forces with other Young Disciples branches from different universities. While learning from the Bible provides spiritual nourishment, attending a retreat is like participating in a spiritual banquet. It’s an enriching experience filled with God’s word and His love. During these retreats, we rent a space where we live together, pray for one another, share delicious meals, and engage in enjoyable games. Many students have attested that these retreats mark turning points in their life journeys.

40 Days Walking with God

A 40-day Bible study program is a journey of personal transformation. Students are setting aside time to draw closer to God, to reflect on His Word, and to let its truths resonate within them. Each day, they will explore passages, reflect on their meanings, and consider how they apply to their lives today. This isn’t merely an intellectual exercise; it’s an opportunity for their hearts to be changed by grace, their faith to be deepened, and their relationship with God to grow deeper. 40 days is a time of receiving spiritual renewal, growth, and a deeper understanding of the abundant life that God desires for each of us.

Mission Trips

Young Disciples Berkeley organizes mission trips twice a year, where we travel to different states to spread the gospel. This mission is a way of fulfilling God’s commission to reach more lost souls beyond Berkeley.

During these trips, we also visit fellow Young Disciples fellowships in other universities, joining forces in both mission and fellowship. Our last mission trip was in the University of Washington, Seattle, where we experienced God’s abundant grace. Our students became more passionate about God’s Kingdom, and deepened their faith through this journey. We also have plans for international mission trips. With a wide range of opportunities, YD mission trips allow participants to travel both near and far, spreading the message of Jesus to those who haven’t heard. Interested in joining a mission trip? Don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Leadership Training Program

The goal of the YD leadership training program is to prepare YD members to serve as part-time or full-time ministers on university campuses. The leadership training programs are held several times throughout the year, and they include:

*In-depth Bible study

*Studies in church history and theology

*Practical preaching training

*Counseling training, etc.

If you have the heart for the lost souls on university campuses and help them to be transformed by the Gospel of our Lord Jesus, leave us the messages to apply our leadership training program!

Testimonies

Everyone at Young Disciples is so kind and they make you feel like you’re a part of their family. The teachers are very knowledgeable and caring above all else! They invited me while I was on campus and I’ve been able to make some close friendships and flourish in a new environment as a college student.

Logan

This is a loving family that extends beyond mere blood ties. The eagerness to seek God and the genuine care for one another demonstrated by our dedicated mentors and members, have deeply touched me and changed my life. My heart unfurls every time when we have the in-depth Bible. God's words illuminate the righteous paths, nurturing my faith. I have found true joy in Christ, which is the most beautiful and memorable moment during my time at Berkeley.

Pan

I have found a new family of faith through the Young Disciples. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I lost connection with my Christian brothers and sisters in my hometown. I was left both emotionally and spiritually depleted. YD helped me to once again study the Word of God and seek His Kingdom diligently. I now trust in God more than before. I have been blessed by their good teaching, genuine love, kindness, and friendship. I am honored to be part of Young Disciples family.

Chynice

Young Disciples is the place where I finally felt as though I was able to grow in God. Not only that, but I felt welcomed and valued here. I believe that this is a place where everyone, no matter who they are, will find community in Christ. YD is also special in that you are able to form a closeness with the minister, which has been very personally beneficial for my faith. There are events, allowing you to grow closer to God not only once a week, but everyday of your life.
