Take Courage, let the Lord be your Guide

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? The very words of the Lord to Joshua, who was to take on the lead over the people of Israel towards the promised land after 40 years of going around the wilderness. For Joshua, it must’ve been overwhelming, he simply doesn’t just lead the way but to become a spiritual leader for all God’s people. Joshua was discouraged by his own inadequacies and seeing the enemies ahead of them, strong and mighty. We can only imagine how down Joshua felt yet took the courage to lead despite of all the doubts he has for himself, for he settled to trust in the Lord to be with them, to strengthen them, and to be their hands.

We find ourselves often in the position of Joshua. It is as though there is this giant ahead of us as we are still living in a fallen world. We are facing tough decisions to make and valleys to take. But be strong and courageous is for sure what the Lord would like us to hear. Jesus, also went through tribulations, but he has overcome, as he said in his word that in this world, truly there are giants, but God is with us, that when we desire what is good, and for the glory of His name, no trials can struck as down. In whatever season you are in your life, whether to start or to restart, ask the Lord to guide you, to bless you and offer your endeavors to Him, dream His desires for you, and take the courageous step to start or restart your journey for a purposeful and meaningful life.
