Our Love for God, Results Genuine Love for Others – ROMANS 12:9-11

“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.” ROMANS 12:9-11
True enough, it’s easier said than done. Most of us find it easy to say we love, yet in the actual, we struggle to sincerely love. To love genuinely is to show honor and respect to others, just as how we would like to be respected. To show love is also putting value to the dignity of others Through this, we will no longer see people as merely objects or projects, but rather we will see them with value and compassion, just as how Jesus Christ sees everyone of us, a sheep without shepherd, and so gave his life for us as an act of God’s great love.
May our faith and communion in Christ bear the fruit of having a compassionate eye, that we may truly, sincerely love and honor others and as we do so, our service to God by serving his people becomes an act of our love and offering to him. Let our communion with Christ be refueled every day, that we may remain the enthusiasm to be compassionate to others, God’s second command, the call to love others after Him.
