To Follow Christ, Take Up The Cross – MATT. 16:24-26

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life, will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 16:24-26
In following Christ comes with a cost. As Jesus Christ himself told his disciples, to take up their cross, and follow him. The cross, represents the Lord’s suffering, and so as we take up our own crosses too, that means that the life of following Jesus Christ isn’t a life of smooth sailing, but expect to go through suffering such as rejections, being mocked because of our faith, or even personal struggle in battling with our own flesh as we desire to walk in the spirit.
But in the midst of all these suffering, the Lord Jesus Christ promised us to never leave us, nor forsake us in our journey of following Him, as the helper, the Lord Holy Spirit is with us, to give us the wisdom, understanding, the guidance, the discernment as he plants his purposes in us, sanctifying us and helping us to progress to Christlikeness.
As we follow Jesus, do not be discouraged of sufferings, rather, may this crosses lead us to a deeper communion, dependency to Christ.
