Believing in Christ Is Living Victoriously – 1 John 5:4-5

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5

Who doesn’t want to live life victoriously? All of us yearn to be victorious in our walk in this lifetime. In fact, most of the teachings from our schools or even in our adult life lead towards victorious living. But here, we meant a victory that is beyond our human eyes. It isn’t necessarily a victory because of having much or having power, rather, a victory in the spiritual that is overcoming the standard of the world and the scheme of the enemy. Some of our defeats may be caused by sin, or not meeting what others say or perceive about us that eventually stifled us to believe that we are hopeless.

However, the good news is that there is a way out of defeat and that is the victory that Jesus invites us to partake with Him by believing in Him, having faith in Him, walking and abiding in Him that opens our spiritual eyes to see beyond and ultimately defeating what the world imposes that opposes to what God intends living should be.

Everyone born out of God, through the Spirit will overcome the world. A powerful promise and assurance to us who believe – where His power lies within us to help us see, discern and act with wisdom that will lead us to victorious living.
