Receive, Believe and be saved!

What a great verse! It shows how much God loves us that He claims us as his own and will bring us to his Kingdom. Jesus is the greatest gift of God we ever had and as we accept him as our personal savior, we become God's children. Receiving Christ allows us to have full access to God because of him. Supreme triumph will be given for those who receive and believe in him and will be granted a new life. We heard God's message in Jesus, we received his grace offered in his Son, and we are now God's children!

Eternal life through Jesus is a gift and the way to salvation begins with receiving and believing in him. Receiving Christ means taking him into our hearts, and admitting that we need him for our forgiveness and to have a new life. As we receive Christ through faith, we become children of God. Believing means trusting that Jesus is God in flesh that came to earth to die for our sins. As we believe on the Lord's name, we are not just accepting that He is who He is; we are seeing Him as God, believing in what He taught and adopting it into our lives. Therefore, as we are empowered with the Life of Christ, we are now children of the King-- the King's heirs. We have inherited the Spirit of the life of Christ Jesus.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." -Luke 2:14

God in the Highest, the God of Peace!

This good news is for all mankind: peace toward men with whom God is pleased. The angels declared peace to men, that declaration was fulfilled in the first advent of Jesus. Jesus' birth means fulfilling the promises of God. Pain felt on Earth will be gone, mankind even displeasing God will be rescued and will be at peace with Him. Without Christ, we will know no peace, no God-designed wholeness, and stand outside the circle of God's approval. Christ has brought peace to men, he came to die, to save and to show the act of love, to remove the tears from the eyes of the people of God's favor. What a great gift of love from God!

With all these gifts of love, peace and mercy from God, how can we not praise Him? There is only one proper response for God's gift of Jesus - our praise and adoration. This is a reputation for God, the most holy to be in the highest places! God is the most holy and where there is holiness, there is peace. This peace is only bestowed to those who first receive His approval, those in whom He takes delight. Therefore, let us reach as many people as possible to show His great works and deeds. As we proclaim His name, let us tell people God's requirements for participating in His peace.

So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled. -1 Thessalonians 5:6

Stay Awake Spiritually

Apostle Paul is giving us a spiritual wake-up call, telling us to wake up, be on guard, and do not sleep, keeping ourselves awake by being vigilant against those who would tempt us to give up our salvation. We surely do not want to give up our salvation! Jesus himself has come and not only brought us life, he has showed us how to live. It is because of him that we live! As some are spiritually asleep, in their state of insensibility, we should be sober - as Jesus will execute his wrath against drunkards.

Our lives depend on ourselves of being alert. Our eternal destiny depends on ourselves. We are going to be alert, never falling asleep, we are going to be self-controlled. We're going to be fully alive, because we know Jesus' return is imminent and our day of salvation and deliverance is near. We are saved and among the children of the day, we need not fear Jesus coming as a thief. We should stay awake because the Lord is coming! As we keep our Christian company it would not be possible to fall asleep spiritually while we all look upon Jesus, waiting for His coming. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
